The SCS 8501 Portable Field Service Kit 8501 w/Adjustable Wrist Strap is designed to quickly and reliably remove any static charge on the user and to provide a static-free surface to put parts on. By using a static dissipative work surface it reduces the potential for sparking and shorting that exists with highly conductive mats, and minimizes charge drainage from battery packs. This mat features a cotton trim cover over all the edges of the mat for added safety. The 8501 is flexible and works on the principal of grounding by using a ground cord and wrist band that is connected to the dissipative mat.
